Swinging bucket centrifuge
Beckman Coulter's swinging-bucket centrifuge rotors allow the angle to change during the run; buckets are vertical when stopped and horizontal when running.

20 Oct Separation of solutions by a centrifuge requires a rotor, but is swing-bucket or fixed-angle the better choice for your lab? Read our comparison.
Description:Centrifuges force this process along much more quickly and efficiently. Density separation of cells is done best in a horizontal rotor of either type. Thus, when the centrifuge is operating, particles sediment along an unimpeded, radial path, away from the center of rotation, and deposit evenly on the bottom of the tube or other container. The available rotors for a specific SIGMA centrifuge can be found on the pages describing the centrifuge.
